Rivercity Pickleball Club is a community-driven club based in Whanganui, created to grow and celebrate the game of pickleball in a way that is welcoming, fair, and genuinely enjoyable.
We exist to promote participation, skill development, and achievement in pickleball - while always upholding the principles of fair play, respect, and good sportsmanship. Whether you’re picking up a paddle for the first time or chasing competitive rallies, our goal is to provide a positive environment where everyone feels they belong.
At our core, Rivercity Pickleball is about people. We believe sport should be inclusive, supportive, and fun. That means creating space for all ages, abilities, and backgrounds, and fostering a culture where players encourage one another, play with integrity, and enjoy the social side of the game just as much as the competition.
We’re proud to be a not-for-profit, member-focused club. Everything we do is directed back into the growth of the club, the development of our players, and the wider pickleball community in the Whanganui region. Our club is run by members, for members, with transparency, fairness, and accountability guiding how we operate.
We ask all members to help create the kind of club they’d want to return to each week. That means:
Playing fair, with honesty and integrity
Respecting all skill levels - from beginners to seasoned players
Keeping competition spirited but friendly
Prioritising safety and wellbeing
Supporting growth, learning, and confidence in ourselves and others
Leaving the courts and spaces better than we found them
And yes - while we take the game seriously, we don’t forget to have a sense of humour. Good vibes matter here.
If you’re looking for a club that values community as much as competition, and fun alongside improvement, Rivercity Pickleball Club welcomes you. Come along, have a hit, and see if it feels like your kind of place.
